One customer said that they have woodchip dryers, but they need suitable hot air furnace for the woodchip dryers. Then, how to decide the suitable hot air furnace ?

Please kindly note that the wood chip drying is one whole drying system which includes hot air furnace, rotary drum dryer, draft fan, air duct, cyclone, etc, and the capacity of the wood chip dryer is influenced by many different factors.

For your existing wood chip dryer 1.6 m diameter, 18 m long, please kindly give us more information as follows:

1- Are your wood chip dryer is single pass rotary drum dryer ?

2- Could you please take some photos of the inner structure of the wood chip dryer ?

As the inner structure of the wood chip dryer should be designed according to the features of wood chips. Not reasonable inner structure of wood chip dryer drum will cause lower capacity, even can not produce the good quality product.

3- For the heat source, what kind of fuel will you prefer to use, such as coal, waste wood, diesel, natural gas, etc ?

4- What is the air duct/tube diameter (mm) ?

5- What is the motor power for the rotary dryer drum ?

6- What is the motor power for the draft fan ? If possible, please also take some photos of the draft fan, especially to take a photo of the I.D. plate of the draft fan.

7- If you could tell us what is the air volume (cubic meter per hour) and air pressure (Pa) of the draft fan, it would be much better for our engineer to give you suggestion.

8- What is the initial moisture content (%) of your wet wood chips ?

9- What is the bulk density (kg per cubic meter) of your wet wood chips ?

10- What is the output moisture content (%) of the dried wood chips ?

11- What is the input capacity ( t/h ) of the wood chip dryers that you need ?

12- What is the size (mm) of your wood chips ? If possible, please send us some photos of the wood chips .

The above information are necessary for our engineer to understand your existing wood chip drying system, and then our engineer can give you our suggestion accordingly.
