With the booming food processing industry, the production of pomace, a byproduct of processes like juice and winemaking, is increasing. Properly handling this pomace has become a challenge for many companies. The emergence of a pomace drying and feed pelletizing line offers a perfect solution to this problem.

Wide Range of Applicable Materials

This line is suitable for a variety of pomace materials, including common ones such as apple pomace, grape pomace, citrus pomace, and pineapple pomace. These pomace materials are rich in nutrients and, if properly utilized, can be transformed from waste into valuable feed. For example, apple pomace is rich in dietary fiber, pectin, some sugars, and vitamins. After processing, it can become a high-quality feed ingredient. Furthermore, more specialized pomace materials, such as mango pomace and pomegranate pomace, can also be effectively processed on this line.

Scientific and Reasonable Working Principle

In the feeding stage, the pomace is precisely fed into the front end of the dryer via a screw conveyor or belt conveyor system. The ingenious distribution mechanism evenly distributes the pomace within the drum, laying a good foundation for the subsequent drying process. During the heating and drying stage, the dryer's main body is slightly tilted, and driven by a transmission mechanism, the drum slowly rotates. Inside the drum, specially angled lifters continuously lift and drop the pomace as the drum rotates, creating a uniform curtain of material. Simultaneously, high-temperature hot air is blown in from one end, ensuring full contact with the pomace and significantly accelerating water evaporation.

During the temperature control stage, the hot air can be supplied by a variety of sources, including a combustion furnace or a steam heat exchanger. Depending on the type of pomace and its initial moisture content, the production line can be divided into different temperature zones. This ensures efficient dehydration under optimal conditions while preventing the pomace from charring or significant loss of nutrients due to excessive temperatures.

During the exhaust gas treatment stage, evaporated water is discharged along with the exhaust gas. To ensure a clean and safe working environment, the exhaust gas first passes through a cyclone dust collector to remove larger dust particles, then enters a bag filter to further filter out fine particles, ultimately achieving standard emissions. Discharge Stage: The fully dried pomace is continuously discharged through a star-shaped discharge valve. At this point, the pomace has reached the desired dryness and can be directly fed into the subsequent feed pelleting process.

Multi-sector Applications

Agriculture: In large-scale farms, dried pomace can be used as a high-quality supplementary feed for livestock and poultry. For example, adding pomace to pig farms can improve pig intestinal health and enhance pork quality. For cattle and sheep farms, pomace feed can supplement some of the daily nutritional needs of livestock and reduce breeding costs.

Feed Processing Enterprises: Feed processing enterprises can use this production line to convert pomace into commercial feed on a large scale. This feed not only meets local market demand but can also be exported to other regions through sales channels, expanding their business scope and market share.

Food Processing Enterprise Internal Recycling: Some large juice factories and breweries generate large quantities of pomace during their production processes. After installing the pomace drying and feed pelleting production line, the company can digest the pomace internally and convert it into feed for livestock breeding within the company, thus realizing the recycling of resources, reducing waste disposal costs, and creating additional economic benefits.
