In the mineral processing plant's production process, an industrial dryer is a key auxiliary equipment. Its core function is to remove moisture from minerals (or processed mineral products), creating the necessary conditions for subsequent mineral processing, product storage, transportation, and resource utilization.

1. Strict requirements apply to the moisture content of mineral raw materials: Excessive moisture in crushed ore or in the slurry after grinding can cause mineral particles to agglomerate and have poor fluidity, clogging the mineral processing equipment and impairing the contact efficiency between the mineral and the reagents. Industrial dryers can reduce mineral moisture, ensure even dispersion of mineral particles, and increase the processing capacity of mineral processing equipment.

2. Reduce the moisture content of tailings/waste residue. The mineral processing process generates large amounts of tailings (the remaining gangue waste after beneficiation) and waste residue. These solid wastes typically have an extremely high moisture content (up to 60% or more). Directly storing them in a pile not only occupies a large amount of land but can also cause heavy metal leaching due to rainwater erosion, leading to environmental pollution. Industrial dryers can reduce the moisture content of tailings/waste residue to below 20% (some can be as low as 10%), converting them from a slurry to dry blocks/powder. This not only reduces the stockpile volume (reduction rates can reach 30%-50%), but also allows for resource utilization as construction aggregate (for example, in brickmaking, roadbed fill), soil conditioner, and other resources, reducing solid waste disposal costs.

3. Mineral processing plants process a wide variety of minerals (metallic, non-metallic, and rare metal ores, among others). Different minerals contain varying forms of moisture (e.g., surface water, crystallized water, and bound water). Industrial dryers can adapt to the specific mineral requirements by adjusting the heating method (e.g., hot air drying, steam drying, microwave drying), temperature, and air speed.

Industrial dryers are not only a dehydration tool for mineral processing plants but also a core link connecting the mineral processing process, product quality, cost control, and environmental requirements. Their performance directly impacts the plant's production efficiency, resource utilization, and economic benefits.
