The Main Structural Composition of Belt Conveyor

Belt conveyor has very wide application and it can be seen everywhere such as in food station for conveying grain, food processing station for conveying raw materials and final products and semi-finished products, coal transportation, in stone plant for sand transportation and in various plants for conveying materials.

In the mining industry, conveyor belt is widely used in sand making production line and ore beneficiation plant, and in some building material equipment, it is also a common machine. Here, Hongxing Machinery will give a brief introduction to the main structural compositions of belt conveyor.

1. Driving device

Driving device is a device that can transmit the torque of the electromotor to the belt to make it continuously run. Driving device is composed of electromotor, driving roller, coupler and reducer. With the improvement of the transportation ability of the belt conveyor and the increase of the transportation distance, the power of the motor is also constantly increasing and multiple-motor driving is also becoming more and more. Adopting multiple-motor driving can reduce the height and width of the driving device.

2. Brake apparatus

Brake apparatus mainly refers to brake and holdback, and it is mainly used for preventing convery belt from reversion when it is stopped with load and preventing materials from rushing out. When the dip angle of the elevating conveyor belt exceeds 4'-6', a brake apparatus must be set.

3. Support device

Support device mainly refers to a series of equipment that supports the belt and materials and completes the transportation. The support device of mining belt equipment is mainly composed of upper pin type roller, lower plat roller, adjusting roller, impact idler and frame.

4. Tension device

The functions of tension device are to make sure the belt has sufficient tensile force, roller and belt produce necessary frictional force, limit the sag of belt in the frames, so that the conveyor belt system can work normally. The common tension devices are divided into mechanical tensioning type, screw tensioning type and heavy hammer tensioning type.

5. Redirection device

Redirection device mainly consists of redirection roller, special frame and pinch roller.

6. Cleaning device

When a belt conveyor is running, cleaning the dust on belt, roller and carrier roller is very important as the dust will cause off tracking of belt and serious abrasion of the running part.
