Rotary Dryer for Drying wood chips

Special Rotary Dryer by Dingli Machinery is designed for drying wood chips, wood sawdust, wood shavings, etc. After being dried, the moisture content of the wood chips can be less than 15%.

After being dried by the wood chip dryer machine, the moisture content 8-15% dried wood chips are very good materials to propduce the biomass fuel such as wood pellet, and the calorific value of the wood pellet can be up to 4500 KCAL per kg.

Then how does the wood chip dryer to dry the wet wood chips ?

The belt conveyor sends the wet wood chips into the wood chips dryer's cylinder. On the inner wall there are many flights. When the wood chip dryer machine is working, the cylinder is rotating slowly under the function of the motor and transimission ASSY.

The furnace supply the hot air/gas for the wood chips drying system. The fuel for the hot air furnace can be waste wood, natural gas, diesel , coal, etc. For different kinds of fuel, the design of the hot air furnace also is different.

For example, if we use natural gas as fuel, then we need to use the natural gas burner to burn the natural gas, and together with the hot air furnace supply the high temperature air into the wood chips dryer.

Under the function of the flights, the wood chips is mixed with the hot air sufficiently. The wood chips is heated, and the humidity in the wood chips is evaporated into water vapour.

Then you will also ask , how does the water vapour goes out of the wood chips dryer ?

At the end of the wood chips drying system, there is one high pressure draft fan. Under the function of the high pressure draft fan, the water vapour goes out of the wood chips dryer in time, and finally we got the dried wood chips.

Again, during the drying process, is there some dust pollution generated ?

Yes. But please do not worry about it. We have one special cyclone dust collector which is used to get rid of the dust. Thus, the working environment of the wood chips dryer system is clean.
