Currently, high-viscosity clays such as kaolin and bentonite have long hampered the quality and efficiency of finished products for mining companies due to their high moisture content, tendency to clump, and difficulty in processing. Addressing these industry pain points, specialized clay drum dryers have become core equipment for upgrading clay processing, solving problems such as wet clay clogging, high costs, and poor performance in one go, enabling standardized and high-value deep processing of clay resources.
Raw kaolin and bentonite have a moisture content as high as 20%-45%, exhibiting extremely high viscosity. Without drying, they easily clump and clog crushing, grinding, and granulation equipment, causing frequent downtime for maintenance. High moisture content significantly increases transportation weight, leading to high logistics costs. It also damages the core properties of montmorillonite, such as adsorption, expansion, and bonding, resulting in a decline in finished product quality and making long-term storage impossible. The equipment employs a three-cylinder and single-cylinder co-current drying process. Wet ore is fed into the rotating cylinder and continuously dispersed and thrown by specialized anti-sticking lifting plates, forming a uniform material curtain that fully exchanges heat with hot air, rapidly evaporating internal moisture. A dust removal and exhaust system removes moisture throughout the process, ensuring stable temperature control and precisely maintaining the ore moisture content between 5% and 12%. The drying process is uniform, preventing clumping and sticking to the walls. The added value of the dried ore is significantly increased, leading to a wide range of applications: dried bentonite can be used in oil drilling mud, foundry binders, iron ore pellets, environmentally friendly seepage prevention materials, and high-end low-dust cat litter raw materials; dried kaolin can be widely used in ceramic firing, paper filling, coatings, and daily chemical adsorption industries, resulting in broader market reach and higher economic benefits.
Our clay dryer is specifically designed for high-viscosity clay materials, boasting outstanding core advantages and completely solving industry processing challenges. The equipment features a dedicated anti-sticking material lifting structure, eliminating the problem of bentonite and kaolin sticking and clogging the cylinders at the source. Its optimized heat exchange structure increases heat utilization by 20%, supporting multiple heat sources such as natural gas, coal, and biomass, resulting in significant energy savings and reduced consumption. Capacity ranges from 1 to 70 tons/hour, adaptable to large and small mines and complete deep-processing production lines, and supports customized solutions. It also provides one-stop turnkey engineering services, with the entire machine holding CE and ISO certifications and a comprehensive quality assurance system. Currently, the complete mineral clay drying production line has been successfully implemented in multiple clay-producing regions in Southeast Asia and Africa, continuously helping mining companies stabilize finished product quality, reduce production costs, and achieve efficient utilization and value enhancement of mineral clay raw materials.
